My ever helpful little girl

My fingernails always peel and crack. It gets really annoying because then when I go to grab something they snag, and peel back more etc. So the other night, a nail snagged and I was trying to "smooth" it with my teeth until I could get to a pair of fingernail clippers. When Livvy saw me put my finger to my mouth she yelled, "No, I see it, I see it." So I dutifully wait until she can come over and "see" it. She grabs my finger and looks at the ripped part of the nail, and then pulls my finger toward her mouth and proceeded to try bite my nail off for me. Call me crazy, but toddler teeth and my fingers aren't exactly a perfect combination in my book, and so I snatched my hand out of her mouth. I thanked her for her concern and went and found fingernail clippers. Funny little girl.

She's Such a Girl

Olivia loves clothes and shoes. She loves to change her outfits all the time. If I am folding clothes, and it doesn't matter whose clothes they are, she has to try them all on. Forget about actually folding them, it's all about fighting her for them because she claims them all as her own. She is especially fond of Luke's pajama shorts. She actually wears them as her "skirt." She puts both legs into the same pant leg and parades around with a lovely tail hanging out behind her. I need to get a picture of that.

When clothes aren't out in the open, she'll head up to her bedroom, open her drawers and pull clothes out to wear. Oh, the screams I hear when she can't get a shirt over her head, or she can't move because both legs are in the same pant leg. You'd think the world was coming to an end.

She wears an outfit for about 5 minutes. How exactly does she get it dirty in that short period of time? I think it's funny that she loves to dress like a dainty little princess, but she plays like a Tonka Truck. She sure is a cutie.

She's the same way about her hair too. She loves to have "Pretties" in her hair, but the longer I spend on her hair, the sooner it's all pulled out.

This little girl sure brings a smile to our faces.

Cutest Kids Ever

Iknow we all think Our kids are the cutest. These two bring so much joy, fun, and happiness to our lives. During our scripture study tonight, Luke and Livvy started ripping up a sticker that they got at the doctors office today. Right now our family is following the annual Book of Mormon experiment that our Stake President challenged our Stake to do. We started reading the Book of Mormon on June 1st and we should be done by August 31st. That is approximately 6 pages per day. On good days when the kids are behaving we try to squeeze in a little more to prepare for a day when we might not make it a full 6 pages. Trust you me, this is a challenge! Luke and Livvy were being so darn cute with the stickers on their eyes I had to take a picture. Livvy thought it was hilarious about the stickers on Luke's eyes she was being quite disruptive. At least it was a happy disruptive.

Rainy Days

Rainy days are so much fun! I remember wishing I could play in puddles and rainstorms. We've been having some big storms here in Michigan. Luke was so excited to run out and play during one of our huge downpours. Livvy wasn't so sure about it, but still wanted to run and dance around because her big brother was. I'll have to try and capture a storm where it's coming down in sheets. This storm was doing that, but by the time I got the camera it had slowed down. It is so nice that even during a storm it is warm enough to get out and play in it.

Cute Little Mess

Ryan had just finished mopping the floor. It had just dried. Olivia loves the spice and seasonings cupboard. It is the only one where the child lock broke. She got the baking powder out and then got it open. Boy was it fun for her to make footprints and white mess all over the floor. She had a great time. Unfortunately, later that night her belly was bloated and gassy. She obviously got a little in her system too. After a long late night, and a Priesthood Blessing by her dad, she finally felt better and got to sleep.

Oh Baby

Our next door neighbors are so wonderful. They have 2 girls, and whenever they outgrow toys or clothes they pack them up and bring them over to us. Yesterday they brought us this baby station. Livvy was so excited. She had so much fun bathing her babies and giving them baths. She and Madi had fun playing with it together. What a great toy. We are so lucky to have such great neighbors.

Breakfast with Luke

Livvy woke up sad this morning, usually she wakes up happy. When I brought her downstairs I saw Luke making himself some Oatmeal and asked if he was making it for Livvy. He said yes, but that he had accidentally put 2 packs in instead of one, so he'd go get another one for Livvy. Cute boy. He made both of them Oatmeal and even got Livvy a spoon. She was a happy girl from then on (at least until the next fit, which are few and far between). I was a happy mom to have such a thoughtful and caring son. I love how you care for your sister Luke. You are an amazing boy.

Ladies, ladies

Livvy goes to my friend Stephanie's house while I work at Luke's school on Thursday mornings. When I came to pick her up today, they were outside playing. Stephanie says, "I just have to apologize first before you see Olivia's face." Then Olivia turns around and I ask, "Did she fall down?" Stephanie answers,"I wouldn't feel near as bad if that's what would've happened."
Olivia and Maddie are both entering the 2 year old stages where when one has something, the other has to go and get it. Then if the other goes after something else, then that is the most needed possession on the face of the planet. Needless to say Livvy and Maddie had been competing over the same toys, and space all morning. I guess they were hiding in the curtains, and Maddie needed the space that Livvy had. Next thing Stephanie knows is that Livvy is crying and she pulls her out of the curtains and then Poof! Livvy's face turns red and has scratches all over it. She felt awful. Ladies! Ladies! is what Stephanie always says. They certainly forgot to act like it there. :) Poor Stephanie. Livvy will heal, will she? The girls were tormenting her non-stop.
Luke fell down cement steps at the same age and had similar, yet much worse abrasions that this. Must be the age to have a scratched up face.

Livvy loves horses

Our little girl Loves horses. The only problem is that she is scared to death of the ones we have. She dances around singing "horsey, horsey o--n way" (horsey, horsey on your way). But when we try to put her on the rocking horse, or show her the stick horse she freaks out. The stick horse she is now doing better with, but the rocking horse is still a problem. Livvy will now walk up to the horse and pet it, but we are still acclimating her to sitting on it. I'm trying to learn how to down load the movie of her dancing and singing her song. She and Luke are so cute in it.
